In the game's intro, Arthur believes that Prudence is on a summer vacation; but, as his Joy begins to wear off, realizes that she has been missing for a very long time. When entering her office, you'll find spoiled food, "welcome back" cards that have apparently been there for weeks or months on end (indicating her co-workers are not aware of how long she has really been gone) and a full bottle of Joy. Arthur suspects that Prudence was off the medication. A letter found in Clive Birtwhistle's office from Director Victoria Byng promises that he can have Prudence's office if she fails to return from her "vacation", suggesting that Prudence's seniors know she will not be coming back.
